This past Monday, May 29, Memorial Day, a number of our students (over 100) participated in the annual Memorial Day Parade in DC.  Our students, as well as parents and staff took part in the parade as part of the "Keep the Spirit of '45 Alive".  You'll see them holding pictures of fallen WW II soldiers, airmen and Marines as they take part. In fact, in one photo Mr. Sawatzky is holding the picture of 1st LT John Apperson, who died while flying on a bombing raid in WW II.  In fact, Jamie won a grant this past summer and went over to Europe and visited his grave site after researching the life and story of Lt Apperson.
The students also spent time at the WW II Memorial and the Navy Memorial.
