Dear Rocky Run Students and Families:

Welcome back to school!  The Rocky Run staff is excited to welcome our over 1300 students to school on Monday, August 28, 2017 and is looking forward to a school year filled with learning and change.  We will continue to focus on making good things happen for our students and in our school community and sharing good news with you through our weekly News You Choose email messages and social media.  We will further our work with the FCPSOn pilot program for Digital Transformation by offering new learning opportunities and laptop access for every student.  We are also looking forward to exciting learning experiences and the transformation of our school as we begin the renovation process in the spring of 2018.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s schedule, please contact your child’s school counselor.

Positivity Project (P2)

New this school year, Rocky Run MS will be partnering with The Positivity Project for character education school wide. The Positivity Project (P2) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering students to build strong relationships and to understand, appreciate, and exemplify character strengths in us all. The P2 has been successful at elementary and middle schools around the nation, and we are excited to join the movement.  We will be infusing the P2 message through lessons, videos, and vignettes during Rock time periods throughout the school year. For more information, go to www.posproject.org. We look forward to sharing more about P2 with you at our upcoming Back to School Nights.

Back to School Nights

Back to School Night is an opportunity for parents/guardians to experience the student schedule and meet the teaching team. Time will be allocated to visit each class and hear from the individual teachers. Detailed information regarding Back to School Night will be sent out once school opens.
